Choronok 10km road race: Hosea Nailel, Everline Maraba shines

With just four days to Christmas, road race experienced runner Hosea Nailel and Everlyne Maraba were the winners of the inaugural Chronok 10km road race held today at Sirikwa, uasin Gishu County in a slow pace.

The West Pokot born runner, Nailel enjoyed the lead from the start to the end, facing little challenge from his competitors cutting the tape in 39:47 to win the 10km main race along the Nakuru Kapsabet road.

Moses Tokoishi Masai camein second clocking 40:11 as Silas Kipkorir came in third 40:25.

The race started at Cheru area, ending at Green Academy, attracting upcoming runners who tested their ability ahead of Christmas festival.

Coming from Riruta secondary school, Everline Maraba, who is a direct beneficiary of the scholarship, won the race 38:54 followed closely by Maurine Jepkemboi in 41:38 before Linet Jepng’eno completing the podium in 53:18.
