Grace Loibach wins a brace at County games

Grace Loibach won two athletic titles on the final day of Uasin Gishu County Secondary Schools Sports Association hosted at University of Eldoret ground today.

The Kapseret Girls student will represent the county in 3,000m and 1,500m which she convincingly won and will represent the county at the Rift Valley Regional games to be staged in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County next week.

In her first event of the day at the university’s Pavilion, Loibach won the 3,000m race in 10:34.9 beating her close rival Sheilah Kosgei who finished second in 10:46.7.

With only two chances available for regional championships, Loibach will also compete in 1,500m following her exploits, winning in 5:03.0 ahead of Phillipe Chepkazi who timed 5:08.3.

Shadrack Kipngetich ran his own race to win 10,000m with easy. The Tapsagoi based runner did not had any difficult as he stepped into the lead with five laps and opened the gap till crossing the finish line in 30:46.9 followed by Videlis Cheruiyot (32:33.6) from Kerita school.

In women’s category Kosirai’s Naomi Jepleting was in her own class to win the race in 42:33.9 ahead of Sharon Limo in 42:39.9.
