National volleyball champions General Service Unit (GSU) recorded their second match against Ethiopian Wolaitta in the second day of Africa men volleyball Club championships.
GSU, who are returning to the continental competition after missing last year’s edition in Tunisia, had to make it two wins in two matches.
The Kenyan side beat their northern neihgbours 3-1 to take charge of pool A after hammering championship favourites Olympique of Algeria 3-1 yesterday evening.
In the 15th match of the championships today, GSU stunned Wolaitta 3-1. GSU won the first set 25-16 before Wolaitta won the second overstreched set of 26-24.
But the multiple national champions re-energyzed to win the two remaining sets 25-17 and 25-15 respectively.
In the first match on Tuesday, GSU won by the similar margin to Olympique 20-25, 25-15, 26-24, 25-17 in their pool D opener on Tuesday.
Olympique won the first set, the Kenyan team rebounded back to win three consecutive sets to finish match in their optimum show.
