Siblings Norah Jeruto, the 2016 Africa 3,000m steeplechase champion and Daisy Jepkemei, the former world junior 2,000m champion will be in action this weekend in the second meeting if IAAD Diamond League in Shanghai, China.
The much decorated Jeruto, will lead her young sister Jepkemei in a race that has attracted world beating athletes like 2014 Commonwealth champion Purity Kirui, 2018 Commonwealth silver medalist Celliphine Chespol, Caren Chebet, Joan Chepkemoi, experienced Beatrice Chepkoech, Roseline Chepng’etich, Fancy Cherotich and Caroline Tuigong in women’s 3,000m steeplechase.
Jeruto will line up with Jepkemei as they seek the jackpot at the end of the season.
But focus will be in men’s 5,000m with Conseslas Kipruto who won the 2018 Commonwealth title last month in Gold Coast, Australia taking on the track, away from his specialty 3,000m steeplechase.
Kipruto will be up against former junior champion Cornelius Kangogo, Davis Kiplagat, Vincent Letting and Cyrus Rutto.
After winning the first gold for kenya at the Gold Coast, Wycliffe Kinyamal will be in action, competing in 800m men.
Kinyamal will be against former world Youth 800m champion Kipyegon Bett, Jonathan Kitilit and Solomon Lekuta.
