Ayubu Timbe Masika has been disqualified from taking part in three national duties for Harambee Stars ahead of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The China based winger who plays for Heilongjiang Lava Spring was suspended by Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) with a fine for the Kenyan international following an incident that was not immediately punished by the match officials.
Timbe is accused by CAF in an incident in the first qualification match against Sierra Leone last June, having been accused by the referee of using offensive language towards him.
Timbe will be required to part with USD 10,000 (approximately Kshs 1 million) as fine together with a three match ban, a move that locks him out against Ghana at home, Ethiopia away and Ethiopia home.
Under new coach Sebastien Migne, Timbe’s suspension just adds to the rocky terrain Harambee Stars has to negotiate in the ambition to feature in the first AFCON competition since 2004.
