Kenya Pipeline (KPC) and General Service Unit (GSU) will be targeting to win back to back Africa Merchant Assurance Company (AMACO) cum Paul Bitok volleyball tournament set for this weekend at Eldoret National Polytechnic Ground.
As six foreign clubs are expected to compete for the crown with local clubs dominating in the past editions played at the same venue.
The two-day event will be crucial for both teams, who also won the Kenya Volleyball Federation title in December during play offs in Mombasa.
The women’s side KPC will be missing the services of Yvone Sinaida and Beldine Akinyi after suffering knee injuries.
With two wins in the KVF, the Japheth Munala charges will be hoping to defend the title and pick maximum points in the KVF league.
The teams who confirmed participation are Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (Uganda), Espoir women (Uganda) Sky (Uganda) Faru (Tanzania) and South Sudan’s Rembo.
The six will compete against Kenya national league sides, self-supporting teams, universities/colleges as well as schools.
