Former Golfer of the Year John Karichu will lead a host other golfers in the second of the six legs of Pro-Am Road To Karen Masters qualifies this weekend on par 72 Limuru golf club.
Karichu, who is currently the leader of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships will be among the congested field of 220 golfers that serves as part of the qualifiers before heading to Eldoret next month with winners qualifying automatically for the second edition of Karen Masters golf tournament set for July.
Playing on home course, Karichu will be joined by his captain Jeff Macharia on the course golfers Musa Ibrahim with CN Wangare and Mwongeli Nzioka leading women’s category.
Others on the course will be KCB Group Human Resource Director Paul Russo, the Group’s Chief Finance Officer Lawrence Kimathi, Finance Director Samuel Munyua and Corporate Communications Manager Peter Mwaura.
Six category winners from each of the five qualifying tournaments will secure automatic qualification to play at the KCB Karen Masters Pro-am tournament on July 17. The main event will take place from July 19 to 22.
The five qualifying events will earn the overall winner, men winner, lady winner, staff winner the wildcard winner and guest winner get automatic qualification to the Masters.
The wild card ticket will be given to any of the following categories; best first nine, best second nine, nearest to the pin men and lady, junior golfer, longest drive lady and men, at the discretion of clubs.
