Reigning Commonwealth Games 1,500m champion Elijah Managoi will face his young brother, the reigning World Under 18 1,500m champion George Manangoi in this Friday’s Rome Diamond League series to be staged in Italy.
There will be another sibling rivalry in 3,000m steepelcahse between former world youth and Africa youth champion Norah Jeruto and her sister Daisy Chepkemei respectively.
The siblings will be competing in their favourite 1,500m men and will be competing against Kenyans Collins Cheboi, Silas Kiplagat, Jackson Kivuva and Charles Simotwo.
After finishing second to Benjamin Kigen, Olympic champion Conseslus Kipruto will be on the starting line-up to redeem his image.
Though Kipruto will have to deal with Kigen again to victory in Italian Capital. They will be in contention with Lawrence Kipsang, Amos Kirui, Paul Kipsiele Koech, Justus Lagat and Bernard Ng’ang’a.
In women’s water and barriers, siblings Jeruto and Chepkemei will be battling out for honours together with embattled Celliphine Chespol Chepteek, former world champion Hyvin Kiyeng, Caroline Tuigong and former Commonwealth Games 3,000m champion Purity Kirui.
Former world Under 18 800m champion Kipyegon Bett will be battling out with reigning Commonwealth Games champion Wycliffe Kinyamal and all time and veteran runner Ferguson Rotich.
