David Wakhu continued with his stellar performance to win the third leg of “Road to Karen Masters” series played on par 71 Muthaiga golf club.
The three rounds of professional golfers came to an end with Wakhu one over par 214 with the final round playing two over par 73. He fired three over in the first round and added four under par 67 in the second round to tally to 214.
Karen Masters is part of the Sunshine Tour, sponsored by Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and it was officially launched today at Karen Country Club with a sponsorship of Sh12 million.
The Golf Park’s professional enjoyed day one lead with three shots against Vet Lab’s Mathew Omondi but extended the lead to take the title ahead of the second edition of KCB Karen Masters golf tournament to be staged at Karen Golf club.
To be the champion, Wakhu beat Omondi by two shots with the later finishing three over 216.
Despite playing three under par 68, which was his best score in the tournament in the third and last round, Omondi started badly with firing four over par 75 and two over par 71 in the first and second rounds to take the second position.
In third position was Mumias based Dismas Indiza who had four over 217.
The fourth leg of pros switches to Karen on June 24 where the top 25 players will be joined, before the 2018 Karen Masters set for July 19 at Karen Country Club.
