Fred Tonui is the millionaire in Kenya after clinching kshs 31 Million in last weekend’s Sportpesa Mega Jackpot prize.
A medical lab technologist based in Londiani predicted 16 out of 17 matches right to earn the cash.
The father of five who had placed two bets on the Mega Jackpot struck luck after he correctly predicted the outcome of 16 out of 17 games in the popular weekly offering from the country’s largest gaming firm.
Tonui said “I can’t believe that I have won this amount of money. I placed two bets on the MJP which is usual for me. I was following the games keenly as I always do and was pleasantly surprised when one of the bets seemed to be doing extremely well. By the time the message came in confirming that I had won the money.”
Tonui received a chegue worth Ksh31, 736, 374 out of a possible Ksh156,489,885 which he would have walked away with, had he correctly predicted the outcome of all 17 games in the Mega Jackpot. He missed out on the full win after predicting a home win in the Aasane Football vs. Ullensaker/Kisa game which ended in an away win.
“I’ve been playing for over 2 years now since my workmate introduced me to the platform and this is the largest amount I have ever won,” said Tonui..
Whilst not an avid football fan, Tonui said he was supporting Germany to win the World Cup while his local support is behind Zoo Kericho who play in the SportPesa Premier League.
