Amateurs point search heads to Limuru

Kenya Amateur Golf Championships table leader John Karichu is the favourite starter in this year’s Limuru Open Championships to be staged on par 72 Limuru golf course.

Karchu, playing on home turf is expected to face great challenge from former champion Paul Muchangi also from Limuru as he defends his title in search of points ahead of 2019 Kenya Golf Open.

With golfers taking on 54 holes starting this Saturday with 36 before ending with 18 on Sunday, Karichu fired 217 gross to lift last year’s title sending club mate Dennis Maara by a shot.

Another man to watch will be Muchangi who lost the Kenya Amateur Match Play championships title to Nyali’s Daniel Nduva at Thika Greens.

Nduva who is not on the starting line up is also the Kenya Amateur  Stroke Play champion but the title chasers include the reigning KAGC champion Edwin Mudanyi from Vet lab, Coronation Trophy champion Mike Kisia (Vet Lab), Kenyan only deaf golfer Isaac makokha (Vet Lab) who was drafted for the first time in the Kenya Team ahead of Victoria Cup among others.

Former kenya captain Robinson Owiti,   Limuru’s Simon Njogu, Samuel Njoroge of Great Rift and Dennis Saikwa of Royal will be in contention.
