Daegu Marathon champion Abraham Kiptum and former Barcelona marathon champion Valary Aiyabey Jemeli were the winners of Kabarak Half Marathon race ran today in Baringo and Nakuru counties.

With challenges along the course, two time Lagos Marathon champion Kiptum had to overcome all odds, surviving a fatal accident along the course to win the title.

He survived the accident when a motorist was preparing to get up from the scene, three more motorists ferrying photo journalists crashed on the first motorbike that was still lying on the tarmac.

With less than a month after winning San Diego marathon, the 27 year old runner to beat other 168 athletes who were at the starting line.
