Wycliffe Kinyamal surprised the world when he ran into victory at the 2018 Commonwealth Games that were staged in Gold Coast, Australia in April.

But the world has not seen his other side yet at his youthful career., as he reclaimed world 800m record holder’s title he won in 2014’s Glasgow, Scotland.
Following his exploits in Gold Coast in 800m, Kinyamal will be on track this weekend to battle for London Diamond League title.
Speaking during the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) and StarTimes Monthly awards in his Global Sports Communication (GSC), Kinyamal was confident of making it to the podium in the colonial masters land.
With only two years in his career, Kinyamal said that the awards are for upcoming athletes, that motivates them to work hard.
The former East Africa Junior 800m champion has a personal best of 1.43.91 he earned during Shanghai Diamond League.
“Am hoping to do my best as per now am in good shape and I will be seeking to come home with a title. I know the race will be very competitive but I want to assure that I will do my best.” Said Kinyamal.
Training alongside top marathoners in the world like Abel Kirui, Eliud Kipchoge, Goeffrey Kamworor among others, Kinyamal affirmed that strongest athlete will not deter him from aiming to finish at podium.
“I am well prepared to face other top cream athletes. I know the training I have done is good and nothing is left for me but to perform well,” added Kinyamal.
