Soweto stands on Kwanthanze’s way to defend title

Reigning national volleyball champions Kwanthanze will play 2016 East Africa finalist Soweto in girls’ volleyball finals tomorrow as curtains come down at the Kenya Secondary schools Sports Association (KSSSA) at Hill School, Eldoret.

Just as it was in football, new comer Kapkenyeloi will face off with champions Malava boys in boys’ volleyball final.

Kwanthanze ousted former champions Bishop Sulumeti 3-0 (25-17, 25-13 and 25-15) to book a ticket to the final.

In the second semifinal match, Metropolitan’s Soweto beat former champions Cheptil in straight sets of 26-24, 25-14 and 25-19 to seal the victory.

But focus will be on Rift Valley’s Kapkenyeloi champions Malaba at the boys finals. Kapkenyeloi beat Mogonga 3-1 (25-21 25-22, 25-27 25-22) while Malaba ousted Coast representatives Shimoni by straight sets

In netball semifinal Nyakach beat Syumile 48-32 to book a slot to the final, as Kaya Tiwi defeated Karuri 56-29.
