Kenyatta University (KU) team, Blak Blad have one foot to defend the Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) Rugby Sevens that concludes this weekend at University of Nairobi (UoN) ground.

Blak Blad enjoys the summit of the table with 76 points following their two titles won during the series across the country.
KU won the second leg of the series held in Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) before adding the other during Kaimosi leg two weeks later. The Blak Blad, which competes at the Stanbic National rugby sevens, finished second in the opener at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) after losing to Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and finished 4th in the Egerton meeting.
MMUST who won series opener at DeKUT sits in the second position with 64 points. The Kakamega based institution finished second during TUM and Kaimosi meeting losing to KU in both meetings before collecting four points at Egerton leg.
Despite sitting a distance 4th on the table, hosts Mean Machine will be using home advantage to move in top three positions.
Mean Machine, who won the fourth leg of Kusa7s in Egerton after thrashing home side “the Wasps’ 21-0 at the final match. With 54 points, the Machines, who play at national sevens series follows Unites States International University (USIU) completes top three with 60 points.
