Gor Mahia redeemed its image following their 2-1 defeat Bandari FC to beat Kakamega Homeboyz 3-1 to increase their chances of defending the title.
Reigning Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia, having a congested timetable than any other team in the top flight football, the 16 time champions needs three wins to defend the title as they increased their chances in today’s KPL match played at Kisumu stadium.
With the season coming to an end soon, KPL has seven matches remaining in the 2018 calendar only dropped points in two matches starting with a a 2-2 draw against Nakumatt FC and first loss of the season, a 2-1 in the hands of Bandari FC.
They won 3-0 against Kariobangi Sharks, 2-1 against Posta Rangers and Monday afternoon’s 2-0 result against Homeboyz, all matches played at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Francis Mustafa scored the opener in the 31st minute before Innocent Wafula doubled the tally just four minutes later before Homeboyz halved the deficit in the 72nd minute, Benjamin Oketch scoring from a free-kick but Kevin ‘Ade’ Omondi sealed the victory on 89th minute.
