Uasin Gishu County Assembly will be seeking to win football title ahead of County Assembly Sports Association (CASA) games set to start on August 26th to September in Nairobi County.
According to team captain Henry Rono, the title has been elusive but promised to win it this time that will involve all 47 counties.
With CASA now independent from the Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA), the Members of County Assemby (MCA) from Uasin Gishu Assembly will be using the event to win overall title after finishing second in last year championships staged in Nandi County.
Representing the people of Kipkenyo ward, Rono said they are sharpening football skills among other ball games.
“Our training will bare fruits when games start in our neighbouring county. Our teams are training well with hope for the best during the championships in Nairobi,” said Rono.
The determined Rono said last year they were joined with Kicosca but luck was on their side this year they have been separated.
“Am confident that this year football trophy is ours as you know very well we are the city of champions and we are going to prove that.” Rono added.
Rono said West Pokot County is one of the team that is a threat, and last year it was a good team we were defeated in quarter finals by them.
