John Karichu takes three shots night lead at Karen Challenge

Former Karen Challenge Trophy champion John Karichu will enjoy the overnight lead in the Karen Challenge Trophy, the 11th leg of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) ongoing at par 72 Karen Golf and Country club.

The Limuru based golfer played level par 72 in both rounds to keep the lead ahead of Railway’s Simon Njoroge, fresh from winning Nyanza Open, popularly called Hippo Pot came in second with three over par gross 147 before junior golfer Mutahi Kibugu from Muthaiga completing top three with three over par 147.

Reuben Njoroge played five over 149 to come in fourth position before Coronation winner Mike Kisia came in 5th position with fiver over 149 as defending champion Paul Muchangi came 6th position with eight over 152.
