Homeboyz, Mwamba chase sevens title at Christie sevens

National sevens rugby title is still in contention between Homeboyz and Mwamba who made it to the quarterfinals of the last leg of Christie sevens today at RFUEA Ground.

The two teams stayed on course to win the overall title after toping in their respective groups to ensure they don’t meet at the quarterfinals.

Homeboyz finished top of Pool B and will play Nairobi University side Mean Machine in Sunday’s quarterfinal while rivals Mwamba topped Pool A to set up a date with visiting Blue Bulls TUKS from South Africa. Uganda’s Emerging Sevens topped Pool C to reach the cup quarters alongside hosts Kenya Harlequin while KCB and Strathmore Leos qualified from Pool D.

Blue Bulls TUKs registered their second win in Pool B, edging plucky Menengai Oilers 21-19 to reach the cup quarters alongside Homeboyz who made sure of first place in the pool with a 43-12 win over Top Fry Nakuru.
