John Karichu takes the lead at Uganda Open

Former Golfer of the year champion John Karichu ousted day one leader Edwin Mudanyi in the second round of Uganda Amateur Golf Championships going on on par 71 Entebbe Golf Club.

Limuru based Karichu played three under par 68 to emerge at the top of the leader board at the close of second round today.

In the two rounds that started on Wednesday morning went on top of of the board on four under par total of 138 gross.

Mudanyi who led the opening round with five under 66, played five over 76 in the second round and ending in third position after playing level par 142.

Vet Lab golfer is tied third with Ugandan Herman Mutebi, who fired his back to back par 71 for 142.

Home golfer, who is a two times title champion Ronald Otile from Tororo golf club remained second.

Otile played two ovwr par 73 and adding on his four under in the opening round to end second day with two under par 140.
