Eldoret will host the 2019 East Africa Police Games following the announcement by The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet.
The headquarters of Uasin Gishu County won the hosting rights following a lengthy discussion between Boinet and governor Jackson Mandago today at the county headquarters.
Boinett and Mandago made it public with the police boss revealing that they had a meeting in Khartoum, Sudan that decided that the games will be staged in Eldoret, is the fastest growing urban in the country as the town awaits City status coronation.
“Eldoret is growing at a very fast pace, population rising and demanding urgent and sustained security,” said Mandago.
“We appreciate Eldoret’s fast growth and for this, we are soon building two new police stations in our program to improve and keep the people safe,” said Boinet adding that the financial year, due to financial constraints they will build two police stations and then more in subsequent years.
