Reigning Dublin marathon champion Bernard Rotich and reigning Belfast Marathon Caroline Jepchirchir will headline the Dublin marathon set for tomorrow in Ireland.
Having personal best at 2:10.18, the 32 year old Rotich won last year’s title timing 2:15.53 before finishing third in the Zurich Marathon last April.
With his ambitions to compete for the second time, he will marshal forces with Vincent Tonui, former Belfast marathon Eric Koech and Joel Kiptoo, the 2017 Edinburgh Marathon champion in 2:13.33.
At the same time, Josphat Jepkopol, the 2012 Taipei Marathon winner will be contention.
In the women’s race, Jepchichir, the 2018 Belfast Marathon will be adding her Edinburgh Marathon title.
Having her personal best of 2:27.27, the 33 year old runner will be hoping to lower course record of 2:26.13 that was set by Tatyana Aryssova from Russia.
However, she will face off with Ethiopia’s Motu Gedefa who finished third in 2016 and Mesera Dubiso.
