Newly crowned world half marathon record holder Abraham Kiptum rejected media interview after landing at the Eldoret International Airport on Tuesday evening.
Kiptum, who broke the world record, lowering Zersenay Tadese’s record of 58:23 to 58:19 during the Valencia Half marathon ran on Sunday in Spain.

Journalists joined family members and athletes at the airport to receive the new world record holder, landed at the airport at exactly 2010hors.
With usual Mursik party and sinendent coronation was on top, song and dance was well done but once interview time came, Kiptum, the reigning Daegu marathon course record holder with 2:06.29 rejected to have an interview in the pretence of being tired.
But one of the family member, who purported to be his uncle was harsh accusing journalists of not doing their job well.
With journalist being rejected and unwanted, they closed their lens and headed back to Eldoret town, leaving family members conducting prayers.
