Edward Zakayo wins bronze at Cross Internacional de la Constitución in Alcobendas

Reigning world under 20 5,000m champion Edward Zakayo completed his three cross country meetings in third position during the 37th Cross Internacional de la Constitución in Alcobendas, Spain, on Sunday.

The world under 18 3,000m silver medalist failed to keep up with the speed of Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo and Eritrean Yemane Hailesilassie to finish third in the third leg of the 2018-19 IAAF Cross Country Permit series.

The Commonwealth 5,000m bronze medalist faced off with Aron Kifle compatriot Vincent Rono and Timothy Toroitich.

The reigning world U20 cross country champion Kiplimo won the race in 30:00 ahead of Kifle’s 30:22 and Zakayo completed the podium timing 30:43.
