Kenyan marathoners fell to their acrh-0rivals Ethiopians at the 38th edition of Valencia Marathon rac today in Span.
In men’s race, former two time Africa junior champion Mathew Kisorio was the best kenyan runner who finished third behind Ethiopia;s Leul Gebrselassie (2:04.30) and moroccan El Hassan Abbassi (2:04.42) as Kisorio, led Kenyans Sammyt Kitwara in thied clocking 2:04.52.
In women category Lydiah Cheromei returned second behind Ethiopia’s Ashete Dido who won with a course record of 2:21.14 breaking Valary Jameli Aiyabei in 2016 with a new Spanish all comers of 2:21.14.
Cheromei was forced to settle in second place when she crossed the line in 2:22.11 with Tinbit Gidey Weldegebriel also from Ethiopia improving on her pb with almost five minutes closing the first three podium finishes in a new personal best of 2:23.37.
