Oyende, Mutahi to anchor host team as scrabble returns to the capital

Top scrabble Players will be battling for the first 2019 title set for this weekend at Kasarani Sports View Hotel.

Being the first tournament this year, hosts Robinia Geeks club are expected to provide a healthy competition.

Led by top seed Allan Oyende and Martins Mutahi will be anchoring the home side though stiff challenge will be from second seed Gitonga Nderitu of Kirinyaga County and Nakuru’s Willy Mwangi

But Andrew Wabwire, fresh from clinching gold in the the 2018 Eastern Africa university games championship in Dodoma in December is expected to upset the form book.

Publicity and marketing secretary Evelyn Gathoni said ” we expect a high turn out and competitive leg as players battle for slots to defend ECASA title  in Lusaka over Easter and win gold in the WESPAC championship in Goa – India  this October”
