Ushuru beat Kangemi to maintain top spot

Ushuru fc continued with its superlative performance as they edged out Kangemi All Stars in the National Super League (NSL) match played at Camp Toyoyo to remain on top.

While newly promoted side Eldoret Youth were well arrested by Administration Police with Green Commandos thrashing Kisumu All Stars in other matches of the day.

Back to Camp Toyoyo, Ushuru walked away with maximum points against cash trapped Kangemi All Stars with 0-3 thrashing today to extend the lead against favourites Wazito fc who are working their way to return into the Kenya Premier league following their relegation last season.

Ushuru FC, who have missed to rejoin KPL for two consecutive seasons after losing in promotional play-offs, have accumulated 41 points from 18 rounds ahead of second placed Wazito who succumbed to a 3-1 loss away to FC Talanta at the same venue.

Green Commandos pulled a surprising 2-1 win against Kisumu All Stars 2-1 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. The loss leaves Kisumu based team in 5th position with 33 points as Green Commandos rise to 17th spot on 13 points after 18 matches.

The only unbeaten side Nairobi Stima played to a one all draw against Shabana FC at the Gusii Stadium to rise to second on 38 points same as Wazito but with superior goal difference.

FC Talanta coach Abdalla Juma said he is still targeting the top two position to stand a chance of promotion by the end of the season.
“We hope to perform better in the coming fixtures after rectifying our mistakes,” said the veteran coach who previously coached Thika United and AFC Leopards among others.

Struggling Kangemi All Stars who were condemned to their fourteenth loss of the season going down 0-3 to Ushuru on Monday remained at the bottom on eight points.
