Dorcas Neno Anchors MMUST to Claim KUSA women Scrabble title

Dorcas Neno won 12 out of 14 rounds to win the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA)women’s Scrabble title in the championships that came to am end today at Kirinyaga University.
Her win anchored the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) to claim the overall team title.
The Fourth Year student of Disaster management and and Sustainable Management was in her own class, registering big wins with 12 wins and 2 losses.
Jovial student said: “I started playing scrabble while in 2nd year and this is my maiden national win after finishing second last. All I would want to urge ladies never to give up, keep reading and you’ll definitely get to the top.”
The theme of the games was better balance for better in women sports, and it saw a total of 30 ladies signing up for the scrabble games.
Kenyatta University won second place, after leading all through day one.
Leading by example, MMUST captain Elaine Muturi was in third position in the individual category, followed closely by Precious Omondi in fourth place.
University of Eldoret (UOE) took the bronze award, with an average rank of 5.5. Winnie Wambugu was their best player.
