Samuel Kaburu and Charles Kariuki will be taking home advantage to top the standings as they host the last leg of Scrabble Kenya tournament championships in Nyeri County next weekend.
Nyeri meeting marks the end of the series ahead of East and Central African Scrabble (ECASA) Championship to be held in Lusaka, Zambia over the Easter weekend.
The tournament has attracted top Scrabble Kenya players across the country to make final practice preparations ahead of the ECASA games.
Top seed Allan Oyende and veteran Nderitu Gitonga are expected at the event, looking to cement their Kenyan titles here as well.
The tournament will be comprised of 3 divisions as is the norm, with more than 5 universities expected to field players among them DEKUT, KU, UON, UOE, Chuka and Kirinyaga University .
‘We have lots of goodies lined up for everyone this time around and we are expecting a huge turn out,’ said Kaburu.
The tournament is part of the selection events for team Kenya to WESPAC set to be held in Goa, India later this year
