Bandari, Kariobangi Sharks to battle for Shield Cup title

Bandari and defending champions Kariobangi Sharks will face off at the FKF Sportpesa Shield Cup finals following their victory in the semifinal matches played today at Machakos stadium.

The Sportpesa Super Cup finalists Bandari mercilessly thrashed their Mombasa counterparts SS Assad 6-1 in the first semifinal to book the final match against the champions under William Muluya were 1-0 winners against Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), under the tutelage of Frank Ouna in the second semifinal match at the same venue.

Bandari, who won the 2015 title won their match after Abdalla Hassan scored a brace as Wycliffe Ochomo. Yema Mwana, Darius Msagha and William Wadri scored a goal apiece as Athman Bori scored a consolation.

Bolton Omwenga’s own goal in the 55th minute earned Shark’s a deserved win.

Sharks, who will be defending their title, will be making their third appearance at the final of the domestic cup.
