Edward Zakayo, the sole Kenyan in Rabat Diamond League

Reigning World under 20 5,000m champion Edward Zakayo will be the only Kenyan runner in 5,000m at the 6th leg of IAAF Diamond League meeting in Rabat, Morocco today.

Zakayo, the Africa 5,000m champion also won silver at the 2017 world under 18 championships behind Ethiopia’s Selemon Barega.

But five Kenyans will be eyeing for a title in emn’s 3,000m steeplechase. Abraham Kibiwott, Nichola s Bett, Leonard Bett,  Benjamin Kigen and Lawrence Kipsang will be at the starting line-up to seek for the victory.

Former world under 20 champion Jonathan Kitilit will; be chasing 800m title alongside experienced Ferguson Rotich and Emmanuel Korir in men’s category while Emily Tuei and Nelly Jepkosgei will be flying women’s flag.

Winny Chebet and Josephine Kiplangat will be eying 1,500m title in women while Michael Kibet, Brimin Kiprono and Vincent Kibet will be in men’s race.
