Acakoro Ladies will battle out with Kitale Queens in the girls’ Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom fonals set for Sunday following their victory in the semifinals played today at Kinoru stadium in Meru.
The Nairobi regional champions Acakoro were 4-2 winners against Coast representatives Changamwe Ladies while Kitale Queens from Rift Valley humiliated Central Representatives’ Barcelona 6-1 in the second semifinal.
Catherine Awuor netted a hat-trick for Acakoro as Sylvia Wakhungu scored a goal while Saumu Kahindi and Nancy Akinyi were on target for Changamwe.
Wakhungu opened the score in the 19th minute to give her side the lead before Awuor scored two consecutively in the 25th and 35th minutes to enter the break with 3-0 up.
On resumption, Kahindi reduced the score when she scored in the 46th minute and Akinyi narrowed to the lead with her 50th minute goal but determined Awuor netted her hat trick in the 93rd minute to seal Acakoro victory and book the final play.
In the second semifinal, Kitale queens mercilessly thrashed Barcelona with Peres Nafula and Agneta Marondo netting a brace as Metrine Nanjala and Daisy Busia scored a goal apiece.
Nanjala opened the score in the 20th minute before Busia doubled in the 38th for a 2-0 lead into break.
On resumption, Nafula’s name was on the score sheet in the 65th minute before Nanrondo scored her first goal in the 70th minute. Nafula was on target again two minutes later as Marondo sealed the victory ten minutes later before Jane Njeri converted from the spot for Barcelona’s consolation.
Boys semifinal will be played tomorrow when Al-Ahly FC from Rift Valley face South B United from Nairobi as Manyatta United from Nyanza battle Western Champions, Lugari Blue Saints.
