Kenya and Tanzania played out to a barren draw in the opening leg of Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifier at National Stadium, Dar Es Salaam today.
The match failed to live up to its expectations as Kenya collected a point against their hosts ahead of next week’s return leg at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Taifa Stars was seeking revenge against Harambee Stars who beat them at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cairo, Egypt last month.
The result places Sebastien Migne’s charges in good stead of proceeding to the second and final qualifying round in Nairobi.
The aggregate winner of the first round will face Sudan in the second round.
The second-round winner will qualify for Chan 2020, the sixth edition which will be held January next year in Cameroon.
