Keitany, Kamworor to chase New York City Marathon titles

Reigning New York City Marathon champion Mary Keitany and former champion Geoffrey Kamworor will be chasing New York City Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label road race, on Sunday 3 November.

Keitany will be defending her title as she chases her fifth title in New York race in the United States of American soil.

The three-time London Marathon champion became the second woman to win in New York four times with the second-fastest time in 2:22:48.

Having the women-only marathon world record of 2:17:01 and will be chasing the title against 2019 Boston Marathon champion Worknesh Degefa, 2019 Tokyo Marathon champion Ruti Aga, world half marathon record holder Joyceline Jepkosgei, 2018 Boston Marathon champion Des Linden.

Others are three-time Vienna marathon champion Nancy Kiprop who will be making her debut in the world marathon majors, Allie Kieffer, Sara Hall, and Kellyn Taylor.

Three-time world half-marathon champion Geoffrey Kamworor will be returning to the race to redeem his 2017 image when he won the title.

The two-time world cross country champion faces defending champion Lelisa Delisa of Ethiopia.
