Despite playing fewer matches, Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have taken the lead after beating former champions Nzoia Sugar in a match played today Wednesday 2nd at Mumias Complex.
The champions remain the only team that has not dropped a point after beating sugar millers 2-0 with goals courtesy of Captain Kenneth Muguna and Clifton Miheso.
Following the win, the champions enjoy top of the table with nine points from three matches played as Nzoia drops to 13th.
The Bungoma based club won only one match against debutants Kisumu All Stars last weekend
Muguna scored his first goal after beating Nzoia goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi before Miheso sealed the victory in the 27th minute.
