National men’s rugby7s team Shujaa has made a back to back appearance at the Olympic Games set for next year in Tokyo Olympic Games.
Unbeaten Shujaa stunned neighbours Uganda at the concluded Africa Sevens championships in South Africa to earn a direct ticket for the Olympic Games that will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan.
Kenya by against Uganda by 29-0 during the Africa sevens tournament, which was the Olympic Games qualifier after Uganda failing to set up a revenge after losing in the pool B encounter.
Following the win, Shujaa has joined their women counterparts Kenya Lionesses for the Japan show.
At the semifinals, Kenya Sevens beat Madagascar 40-14 in the semi-finals to book for Uganda final tie after edging out favourites Zimbabwe 21-05 in the first semifinal.
At the group stages, Kenya beat Uganda beaten 24-7 in their last Pool “B” match early Saturday to top the pool.
Kenya will be a back to back appearance at the Olympic Games after making it to 2016 Rio Summer Games in Brazil.
