Reigning world 3000m steeplechase record holder Beatrice Chepkoech ran with the national record during the World Athletics Indoor 3000m in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Tuesday night was the time for water and barriers queen who ran a whooping 4:02.09 and ran a two seconds from the meeting record.
The two time world champion defeated Ethiopia’s Axumawit Embaye who came in second by clocking 4:02.96 as Uganda’s Winnie Nanyondo completing the podium in 4:06.13.
Kenya’s Vincent Kibet was third in 1,500m after clocking 3:39:49 in a race won by Filip Ingrebrigsten from Norway who clocked 3:36.32 ahead of Belgian Ismael Debjani (3:39.05).
In 3,000m, Bethwell Birgen (7:35.21) who won last week, finished third behind Ethiopia’s Selemon Barega (7:35.71) and Getnet Wale second in 7:36.03.
