Kabras Sugar’s Mwale leaves

Former Kenya national rugby sevens champions Kabras Sugar are set to lose Royal Mwale to Edach Bodowlani Lublin rugby club.

According to Ragahouse.com, the Zimbabwean international has signed a three-year contract with the Polish side.

It is said that Mwale arrived on Thursday last week from Kenya where he’s been plying trade with the 2016 Kenya Cup champions since December 2019.

The front-rower, who plays hooker as well as a prop is now in coronavirus quarantine which means he will miss his team’s season-opening fixture this weekend and will only join his teammates next week. Lublin plays in Poland’s premier league, known as Ekstraliga.

Mwale -who won Victoria Cup with Zimbabwe in 2019 and has 25 caps under his belt, arrived at Kabras at the same time with Walter Okoth from Nakuru as part of Henly Du Plessis’ plan to win the first Kenya Cup title in four years. However, Kenya Cup was disrupted mid-March by the novel Corona Virus and there’s no hope of the contact sport resuming any time soon in Kenya.

Mwale, who played for South African club’s False Bay, Wits University, and Sharks, leaves a time Kabras Sugar have contracted the services of former Sables player, Mzingaye Nyathi as their new head coach. Before heading off to Kenya, Mwale previously played club rugby in South Africa, Spain and Portugal.
