Home player Harun Ndegwa swung into victory in today’s Huduma Day golf tournament played on 18 hole Kitale golf club.
Playing handicap 17, Ndegwa carded 69 nett for the title in the tournament sponsored by Acting Kenya Seed Managing Director Fred Oloibe.
Ndegwa bogeyed in hole one par 5, dropped two in the second par 5, bogey in third par 4 before recovering with a par in the 4th par 4, 5 and 6 before he bogeyed in 7th, 8th and 9th.
In the last nine, he shot back to back pars from holes 10, 11 and 12 dropped two in 13th and 14th but luck came his way, sinking a birdie in 15th par 3 bogeyed in 16th then parred in both 17th and 18th.
Finishing in second was Nandi Bears golfer Faith Chemtai when she fired 70 nett after teeing off handicap 08.
Chemtai led club mate Elly Barno to third positon with 72 Nett, as host golfer Ali Babuh (74), club chairman Pradip Shah (74) and Eldoret green keeper Aron Kitur (74) for top six positions.
In the commercials, Chemtai was on the podium again to receive the longest Drive for ladies section. It was the greatest harvest for the smiley Chemtai as she picked another prize nearest to the pin prize.
Eldoret’s Aron Kitur won the men’s title. She also won the nearest to the pin prize on hole 5.
Home player Josephine Jesang on 35 points won the first nine title while Eldoret’s Amos Butit won the second nine title on 33 points.
