Kenya’s Peres Jepchirchir broke her own world record after winning the 2020 World half marathon championships in Gdynia, Poland.
After reclaiming her title she last won in 2016, Jepchichir smashed the world record to 65:16, lowering her previous time of 65:34.
World Athletics on their official twitter account wrote: Kenya’s Peres Jepchirchir wins in a women-only world record of 1:05:16! She is the 2020 #WorldHalfMarathon champion
