Odinga, Olunga, Sonko lead Kenyans in congratulating Jepchirchir

Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga led Kenyans in congratulating world half marathon champion Peres Jepchirchir on her Saturday victory during the world half marathon championships in Gdynia, Poland.

Odinga and Olunga led Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, Nandi governor Stephen Sang, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen amiong others following her victory with a world record of 65:16.

Odinga on his official twitter account @RailaOdinga wrote: Congratulations Peres Jepchirchirchir on the great effort and breaking the women’s only half marathon world record in Gdynia, Poland. The entire Kenyan nation is proud of you. Hongera.

Olunga, who plays for Kashiwa Reysol in Japanese League One on official twitter account @OgadaOlunga said: “Congratulations Peres Jepchirchir on winning the 2020 #worldHalfMarathon.”
