Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama will miss tonight’s match when Montreal Impact face New England Revolution in the Major League Soccer (MLS) tonight.
This comes at a time when Wanyama has not yet returned to Canada after his involvement with Stars in the AFCON qualifiers against Comoros.
The Impact coach Thierry Henry will be facing Revolution for the fifth time this year that Impact has won once.
Bojan Krkic, Wanyama and Samuel Piette were on target for the Impact as they punched the ticket to compete in the single-elimination playoffs.
Henry’s men had dropped three successive matches against New York City, Nashville and Orlando City before getting the crucial win against D.C. United.
They finished the regular season in ninth spot with 26 points in the 14-team Eastern Conference. New England Revolution wrapped up the season finished six points ahead in eighth place.
The Revolution have reached the MLS Cup Playoffs for a second consecutive year, while Impact are returning for the first time since 2016.
