Top Kenya golfers will be seeking for a place to play for Kenya at the Africa Zone Five Championships slated for Zambia in April.
Fresh from winning Valentine’s Shield golf tournament over the weekend, on his home club-Vet lab Edwin Mudanyi will be chasing for a slot at this weekend’s Muthaiga Open championships, which is in the third meeting of Golfer of the year (GOTY) series.
Mudanyi will be joined by professional golfers ahead of 2017 Kenya Open championships where four players will be selected from at the event to represent Kenya at the Zone Five fly Kenyan flag at Nkana Golf Course in kitwe, Zamba.
Mudanyi, who has played in the last two Goty meeting-Winsor Bowl and Mount Kenya Championships is set to play in the 54 hole tournament to book for a place.
“I want to play very well this weekend to help me get a ticket for Zone Five Championships. I want to play for Kenya at the Zambian meeting,” said Mudanyi.
Zambian championships will take off from April 10th to 14th and Mudnayi has put on spirited efforts to be part of the team.
The Muthaiga event will see golfers play 54 holes with 36 being played on Saturday and other 18 holes on Sunday.
“The two days will be of great importance towards my golfing career since top golfers will be seeking for the rare chance of four. I have to do my best,” added Mudanyi.
He will be joined by his club mate Robinson Owiti, Royal’s Kenneth Bollo, Muthaiga’s Jeff Kubwa among others.
