Shujaa face France, Spain and England at Paris meeting

Kenya sevens will face off with hosts France England and Spain at the penultimate of world IRB World Rugby Seven’s Series in Paris, France in a month’s time after failing to defend their Singapore main Cup title last weekend.

The Shujaa beat last season champion Fiji in Singapore to lift the title under immediate coach Benjamin Ayimba.

It will be on  a revenge mission between Kenya and England, who met each other in Singapore as England triumphed narrowly over Kenya 13-12 in main Cup quarter finals.

The pool C matches will see Kenya open the meeting against hosts France, when Kenya finished 8th overall in Singapore accumulating 10 points to end on 11th overall table standing led by South African Side.

In the 5th round, Kenya faced all time winners New Zealand but lost. The All Blacks snatched the lead for the first time in the match at the second half with Waaka scoring an unconverted try to take the scores to 17-14. But Kenya fought back, Dennis Ombachi touching down and Augustine Lugonzo converting turning the scores 21-17 in favor for Kenya.

But Innocent Simiyu’s boys could not hold on to the slim lead and just like it happened against England, they let off the advantage after the buzzer. Ormond’s converted try took New Zealand 24-21 up.
