Njoro club’s Sarabjit Sagoo traveled with luck as he won the annual Bayer East Africa golf tournament held on Saturday in a competitive golfing event held at Nakuru golf club.Playing handicap 28 Sagoo carded 40 stable ford points to emerge victorious to beat a host of other golfers.
The golfer played identical 20 points in each nine to beat his closest rival Zaheer Fazal to second place on count back. Handicap 10 by Fazal, who was the first on the tee, take early morning advantage of the course to record 40 stable ford points.
Playing on home ground, carded 21 points in the first nine and returned with 19 stable ford points.
Another home golfer Kirti Morjaria stepped on the podium twice as he collected the third overall winner as well as the man winner with 39 stable ford points.
Playing on handicap 18, Morjaria beat handicap 13 golfer Ashok Patel to 4th overall with 38 points.
As Morjaria won the men’s prize, Margaret Cheptumo was the lady winner with 33 points.
Gross title went golfer Sarat Singh while junior title was taken by handicap 18 Anoop Sahota with 36 points.
Patel stood on the podium again to receive first nine title Ashok Patel after carding 20 stable ford points and Fredrick Mbuthia collected the second nine prize with similar points.
Handicap 10 Moses karuga won the guest prize with 35 points. The nearest to the pin was taken by Eleanor Wambui before Daniel Kuragu won the longest drive prize for men as Esther Karuga was the ladies prize.
