Kenya Nation Super League (NSL) side Nakuru AllStars joined Kenya Premier League (KPL) sides Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards in the semifinal matches as Kenyan teams dominated the Sportpesa Super Cup tournament in Tanzania.
Tuesday evening was a God sent for the Nakuru based team as they managed to win against hosts and Simba SC to shut their hopes of playing at the semifinal match with three Kenyan teams registering wins to qualify to play into semifinal matches.
Despite being the lowly ranked team at the tournament that plays the second tier in the country, the NSL side beat their hosts Simba 5-4 in a post-match penalties played at Uhuru Stadium.
It was song and dance as the Kenyan side qualified to play in the semifinal match against 2015 KPL champions Gor Mahia.
It was the last team to qualify in the better four sides of Gor Mahia AFC Leopards and Yanga SC.
In an earlier match played at the same venue, Kenyan giants Gor Mahia qualified to play at the semifinal after eliminating Zanzibar champions Jang’ombe Boys.
Rwandese international Meddie Kagere netted a brace for the 15 time champions K’Ogalo in a 2-0 one sided match to book for the last four teams.
As the leader scorer for Gor, Kagere opened 64th minute and added the second on 85th minute through a penalty.

It was sad for KPL champions Tusker FC who lost to Yanga SC in 4-2 in post-match penalties following a barren draw in normal time.
