1,500m top runners from Kenya will be chasing for podium sweep at this year’s IAAF world championships currently in London, Great Britain.
The three athletes led by double world champion Asbel Kiprop, world 1,500m silver ,medalist Elijah Motonei Manangoi and Timothy Cheruiyot, all qualified to compete at the final race after they ran better time in the semi finals.
Manangoi won the first heat in 3:40.10 ahead of Kiprop who came second in 3:40.14.a repeat of the qualifying round on Thursday evening.
Cheruiyot finished second behind Czech Republic’s Jakub Holusa in heat two. Holusa timed 3:38.05 ahead of Cheruiyot’s 3:38.24.
Despite running fastest and qualifying on time, Ronald Kwemoi failed to live his expectations as he failed to qualify to compete at the final race.
Kwemoi finished a distance 9th in heat two timing 3:39.47.
