National Olympics Committee of Kenya (NOCK) go into elections next week (29th) to elect the officials ahead of Commonwealth set for Australia next year.
With former runners led by current chairman Kipchoge Keino and former world marathon record holder Paul Tergat as the only individuals who have submitted their papers for chairman’s post.
But Tergat has received backing from Kenya Badminton Federation, through their chairman Peter Muchiri.
While addressing journalists in Eldoret over the weekend, Muchiri said Tergat means good for Kenyan and they have to support him.
“National Olympics is the core of our games since they sponsor many teams but time has come for us to have change. For us as badminton, we have discussed and we will support Paul Tergat and his team and we are very firm on that. We will be strongly behind team Tergat. We are strongly supporting Tergat,” said Muchiri.
