Kabeberi sevens champions Impala Saracens and first runners up Menengai Oilers failed to match their superlative performance exhibited a fortnight ago during Saturday’s Prinsloo sevens in Nakuru.
The duo lost the opportunity to play in the main cup quarter finals and were relegated to Challenge Trophy in the third leg of National sevens rugby circuit at Nakuru Athletics Club on Saturday.
Top contenders for The main cup will be hosts Nakuru, meeting defending champion Homeboyz, Kabras Sugar, Mwamba, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Blak Blad, Kenya Harlequins and Strathmore Leos.
Driftwood finalists Nakuru will open the main cup play against Kabras Sugar followed by Homeboyz against Mwamba, KCB face Blak Blad and Kenya Harlequins complete the quarter finals play.
Them series leaders Oilers will use date against Mombasa, Mount Kenya University (MKU) Thika campus will play Nondescripts while Mean Machine will play Nondescripts while Western Bulls and Impala face Catholic monks.
