Winners of the 14th edition of UAP Old Mutual Ndakaini half marathon this Saturday have pocket kshs 300,000 up from the previous kshs. 200,000.
The organisers have increased the prize money by 50% to be staged in Murang’a County that attracts athletes from across the country.
The race which is meant to conserve Ndakaini Dam that supplies water to Kenyan Capital Nairobi, with this year’s theme is ‘Run for Life in Good Company’
Ndakaini Dam Environment Conservation Association (NDEKA), said the preparations for the event are almost done as they expect an increased number of participants.
The race includes 21km, 10km and 5km categories.
Winners in 21km will pocket Sh 300,000 up from initial Sh 200,000 while the runners-up will receive Sh 150,000 up from Kshs 100,000. Third place finishers will walk away with Sh 105,000.
